The Star Spangled Banner’ was a poem written by lawyer and recreational poet, Francis Scott Key in 1814 which was then recognized for official use by the Navy in 1889. President Woodrow Wilson raised congressional resolution in 1916 to declare ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ as national anthem on March 3, 1931 which was signed by President Herbert Hoover.
