Summer – Summer can arrive quite abruptly during the month of May in most parts of Canada, bringing warm to hot temperatures that will last until late September. Autumn – Autumn brings comfortable temperatures, and this is the time of year to enjoy the spectacular multi-coloured beauty of the city with many first-class museums and galleries. Go hiking, or take a chairlift or gondola ride to the top of a ski hill for some really great views.

Winter – Winter covers the almost all of Canada with a white mantle of snow and the temperature usually stay well below freezing point. For skiers and snowboarders, Canada is indisputably a winter sports paradise! The ski season lasts from December to late March in the East, and extends through May (sometimes into June) at some ski resorts in the West.

You can also enjoy the great winter sport of snowmobiling: there are thousands of kilometres of groomed trails. Or try the unique experience of skating down the world’s largest skating rink on Ottawa’s Rideau Canal. There is also a multitude of festivals and Carnivals In Winter – A good way to keep warm!

On the West Coast, winters are very mild and the little snow that does fall there does not last long. You can expect to play outdoor sports like golf and tennis at any time.
